Offshore Investments - Advice

An Equity Release Scheme is designed to enable people to release some of the value tied up in their property, and so receive either a cash sum, additional income or a combination of both to supplement their lifestyle and/or offset their living costs. An equity release scheme may also be highly tax efficient in that it can assist by reducing a potential liability to Inheritance Tax.

There are a number of schemes available , each with their own benefits and drawbacks. Investors need to research them thoroughly or seek independent financial advice in order to understand the terms and conditions and find out:

  • How the scheme would affect the value and ownership of their property?
  • Is there exposure to the stock market in order to achieve cash/income?
The OSW Partnership schemes have no exposure to stock market or related funds, and offer guarantees of 'no negative equity' and 'lifetime income'. Please contact us for more information about Equity Release.

We have put together the following 'Frequently asked questions' list to help guide you through the many kinds of investment we deal with.

What are...

A Commodity Investment is an investment in a combination of commodities such as energy (gas/electricity), minerals (gold, copper, lead etc) and food supplies (wheat, livestock etc). Our portfolios are designed to benefit from the rise in demand for food, minerals and energy, created by the significant rise in global population,(expected to go from 6 bn in 2000 to 9bn by 2050). Growth in India and China together with radical changes in countries such as Russia and Brazil is resulting in increasing demand for the world's finite resources. To meet this demand, new reserves must be found, mines sunk, pipelines built, crop rotations changed. This takes years to achieve. Meanwhile, demand continues to outstrip supply, resulting in commodity prices having the potential to rise sharply for years to come.
